John A. Stewart is a photographer and filmmaker. He has a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts Degree in Motion Picture Production from U.C.L.A. For twenty-four years John was a Professor of Film Production at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Before that, John taught filmmaking at the Northwest Film Study Center in Portland, the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and the Australian Film & Television School in Sydney, Australia. In 2013, John retired and he and his wife moved from Los Angeles to Bend, Oregon.

Throughout his years of photographing, John has explored portraiture, landscape, and abstract photography.  John has been guided by a quote from filmmaker Robert Bresson: Make visible, what without you, might never have been seen.
